What is a Boggle-style game?
It’s a word search with a twist: the words aren’t hidden in straight lines. You build them yourself by linking letters that touch each other on a square board. The more words you find — and the longer they are — the more points you score.
LETRIXA takes that format to your phone. There are no dice to shake, no sand timer and no arguing over whether a word counts: the game checks every word against the dictionary instantly.
The rules
Every board follows the same simple rules:
- Link letters that are next to each other: horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
- Use each tile only once in the same word.
- Words must have at least 3 letters.
- Only words in the dictionary of the language you’re playing count.
- Tap the letters one by one or drag your finger across them — whichever you prefer.
Scoring: why long words matter
Points grow much faster than word length, so a single long word can be worth more than several short ones.

Board sizes and practice modes
In solo practice you choose a 4×4, 5×5 or 6×6 board. In Classic mode the timer depends on the size: 1 minute for 4×4, 1 minute 30 seconds for 5×5 and 2 minutes for 6×6. Bigger boards hide more words, and longer ones.
- Classic: a timed round with bonus words.
- Infinite: no timer, and you can switch boards whenever you like.
- Explorer: try to find every possible word on the board.
What’s different from the board game?
The core is the same, but playing online opens up things a cardboard box can’t do:
- Real-time 1v1 matches against players of your level, with an ELO rating.

- A daily word challenge with streaks and a season ranking.

Tips to find more words
- Look for common beginnings and endings — RE-, UN-, -ING, -ED, -ER — and build around them.
- Don’t forget diagonals: they’re the links most players miss.
- When you find a short word, try to extend it. A 4-letter word may hide a 6-letter one.
- Vowels are the bridges of the board. When you’re stuck, start from them.
- Use the hint button when you’re stuck: it reveals a word that’s on the board.
Frequently asked questions
Do diagonal words count?
Yes. Letters that touch at the corners are neighbors too, so diagonal links are valid.
Can I use the same letter twice in a word?
Only if that letter appears on two different tiles. A single tile can’t be reused within the same word.
